Jamie Herman joined Fruitman Kates in September 2014 to work in the firm’s tax group and returned to the firm in September 2020. Jamie specializes in tax and estate planning, succession planning and providing an array of family office services. His clients serviced include single family offices, real estate developments, financial services, professional corporations and high net worth owner-managers. Jamie prides himself in his ability to deliver total client service by providing high quality holistic financial advice in a timely manner with a personal touch.

Prior to returning to the team at Fruitman Kates, Jamie worked in a private single family office as their CFO; focusing on real estate development, private lending and private equity. Over that time, he built out a support team of internal professionals, a custom financial reporting system and relationships to allow for constant deal flow. He also worked in a family business allowing him to gain a deep understanding of the dynamic relationship between family and business.

Jamie is an active member and committee member of The Toronto Cricket Skating & Curling Club and an income tax clinic volunteer. He has also presented and written on a variety of topics including taxation and family offices.
