July 27 Update – CRA payment deadline extension

On July  27, 2020 the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) announced it is extending the payment due date to September 30, 2020 (previous extension was September 1, 2020). The extended payment date pertains to:

  • 2019 individual tax returns
  • 2019 or 2020 corporation tax returns
  • 2019 Trust returns
  • Instalment payments for the above

Any correspondence that you received from Fruitman Kates LLP or the CRA indicating an amount owing on September 1 can now be paid on or before September 30, 2020 without incurring penalty and interest charges.
